Strategic Prayer: SOIL

We believe an enemy exists who employs strategic methods to destroy God's mission. But we know the end of the story and who wins!

Together with the Holy Spirit, we will use strategic prayer to stand firm against these attacks and usher in the Spirit of God, specifically as it relates to IFCMC, EFCP, and the greater Worldwide Church Multiplication Movement.

We Pray for the Soil.

God, we stand together to pray for the SOIL. We ask that You prepare the fields for harvest.

Luke 10:2 - “‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”

Matthew 13:3-8 “Then he told them many things in parables, saying: ’A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.’”

This passage is known as the parable of the sower and the seed. It clearly has much to say about the soil the seed is planted in! Our job is to sow the seed. It’s God's job to prepare the soil.

And while soil is soil, not all soil is in equal condition and thus responds in different ways to cultivation. As we see in the parable, “the good soil” fully yields to cultivation and produces good fruit.

Let’s pray for the soil preparation leading up to the International Friends Church Multiplication Conference.

We Pray for the Heart.

God, open our eyes to see Your truth and guide us from darkness to light. We pray for those who don’t know Your love. Would you open their eyes to see Your light?

Acts 26:18 “to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’”

We Pray for New Church Plant Fields.

God, we pray for the lands you are preparing for future church plants. Stir the hearts of the people there and draw them closer to You. We pray they find salvation through knowing Jesus and coming to repentance. Please soften their hearts and open them to Your love and truth.

Romans 10:1 “Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.”

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

1 Timothy 2:3-4 “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

We Pray for Opened Eyes.

God, open the eyes of those who can't see the light of the gospel and the glory of Jesus. Help them understand and accept Your truth and love. Guide them to find salvation in You.

2 Corinthians 4:4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

We Pray for the Attendees of the International Friends Church Multiplication Conference.

God, prepare the hearts of all the attendees for the upcoming IFCMC conference in November. Through the speakers, workshops, affinity groups, and fellowship time, reveal your direction to us. Guide us to strategic relationships and reveal the next steps you have for us.

Colossians 4:3 “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.”

Today's Prayer

Oh Lord, hear our prayer.

We stand together to pray for the soil and ask that You prepare the fields for harvest, especially in the lands where new churches will be planted. Open the eyes of those who can't see the light of the gospel and the glory of Jesus, guiding them from darkness to light. Soften their hearts to Your love and truth, that they may find salvation through knowing Jesus. Prepare the hearts of all the attendees for the upcoming IFCMC conference in November, guiding us to strategic relationships and revealing Your direction to us.

In Jesus' name,

Amen
