Portland, OR is the only place in the U.S. where non-Christians outnumber Christians. Yet, they are spiritually curious, and many are interested in learning more about Jesus. Like all of us, Portlanders are looking for belonging, meaning, purpose, and hope for the future.
Nathaniel and Katie Vanderploeg have lived in Kelso, WA since 2018, when Nathaniel began serving as the Associate Pastor at Rose Valley Friends Church. Katie works in special education. They love doing ministry as a team. They have two daughters, Cora and Irene.

The Vanderploegs want to bring the Gospel and the hope that it holds to Southeast Portland through relational discipleship and incarnational ministry by means of hospitality and small group ministry.
